COURSE DESCRIPTION

This program meets the Entry Level Driver Training (ELDT) requirements established by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). The curriculum begins with permit preparation, addressing topics such as general knowledge, air brakes, and combination vehicles comprehensively to equip students for obtaining a commercial license permit. After securing a Commercial Learner's Permit (CLP) and completing the ELDT classroom instruction, students will apply their acquired knowledge through practical exercises on the driving range, street, and highway.

Each student will practice all essential skills required to safely operate a tractor-trailer and successfully pass the CDL Class A or B road examination. Students hone their turning, backing, and shifting techniques within our driving range. Once students gain sufficient experience and confidence on the driving range, they progress to street driving with instructors to refine and enhance their capabilities in real-world driving conditions.

This thorough training aims to prepare students for the CDL skills test, where they must demonstrate their knowledge of the truck's condition through a pre-trip inspection and complete a series of driving maneuvers evaluated by a certified CDL examiner.
